As a Senior Platform Reliability Engineer, you'll ensure the safety and stability of Akamai's evolving distributed platform. Collaborating cross-functionally you'll act as the vanguard for incident management, network-wide rollouts and proactive measures. You'll be involved in a variety of operational tasks, but also working at a holistic level.

As a Reliability Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Managing and, at times, conducting software rollouts that span massive, multi-service networks while handling escalations from our NOCC
• Providing operational management and support for our global production network
• Leading platform improvements and increasing the key operational efficiencies of reliability and performance
• Creating safety standards and analyzing behaviors through market trends, implementing code, and utilizing automation
• Developing automation and operational tools that help to reduce manual processes and toil
• Participating in an on-call rotation

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Possess solid experience in operations or system administration
• Have government security clearance, or the ability to obtain security clearance
• Demonstrate experience with internet protocols, (DNS, HTTP, SSL) and scripting languages,(Python, Perl, shell)
• Show excellent communication, presentation and written skills to effectively work in a multi-team environment
