As an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
applicable environmental standards and regulations, and conformance to all 3M environmental, health and safety expectations.
Interpreting and rationalizing federal, state and local environmental standards for applicability and implementation at the site.
Completing and/or reviewing and submitting applicable permits and reports.
Leading environmental performance improvement projects.
Assessing new and changing processes, equipment and chemistry.
Interacting with internal auditors and regulatory agencies.
Serve as site environmental expert on environmental projects and communicating project status.
Participating in or leading initiatives aimed at enhancing EHS culture, behaviors, and
accountability within all levels of the workforce.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following
qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, engineering, environmental, health or safety discipline from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start).
Five (5) or more years of experience working in an environmental, health or safety role in a manufacturing environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Master’s degree or higher in a science, engineering, environmental, health or safety discipline from an accredited institution.
Eight (8) or more years of experience working in an environmental, health or safety role in a manufacturing environment.
Professional certification(s) primarily being Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
Strong project management skills and ability to set objectives and deliver results.
Experience implementing comprehensive EHS management systems.
Strong communication skills (oral, written and presentation).
