Research Scientist / Sr. Research Scientist, Cell Line Development

Job Summary

The Research Scientist/Senior Research Scientist in Cell Line Development will be responsible for the development of commercially viable cell lines that will be used in the production of therapeutic recombinant proteins such as fusion protein, monoclonal and bispecific antibodies.

Essential Functions of the Job(Key responsibilities)

  • Execute experiments to support cell line development, including , Linearizing plasmid DNA, transfecting CHO cells, routing cell passaging and maintenance, secure freeze.
  • Execute transfection and selection of transfected cell lines.
  • Design and conduct high throughput assays to screen mAb or BsAb clones, ensure production, product quality, and genetic stability of cell lines.
  • Operate Ambr 15 Fed-batch study to evaluate pools and clones.
  • Ensure clone monoclonality meet regulatory expectations.
  • Create and maintain research cell banks.
  • Oversee Master and Working Cell Banks manufactured and tested at Contract Labs.
  • Manage laboratory supplies and instrument maintenance.
  • Participate and present updates in routine group meetings.
  • Ensure all work is appropriately documented in electronic lab notebook and reports are written in timely manner.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of hands on experience in cell culture for biologics. Master’s degree with 1-3 years of experience in molecular or cell biology, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Prefer at least 2 years’ experience in CHO cell culture work, aseptic techniques are required.
  • Experiences in CHO cell culture and transfection.
  • Experience with high throughput techniques in 384 and/or 96 well plate format such as: Octet, ELISA, Guava, ProA Spin-Column purification.
  • Experience with automated liquid handler is a plus.
  • Experience with statistical Design of Experiment is a plus.
  • Effective planning skills; ability to anticipate resources needs and help establish priorities.
  • Ability to develop effective, flexible relationships with others; understands the business agendas and perspectives of others; recognizes and effectively balances the interest and needs within the organization.
