Principal Accountabilities
  1. Provide leadership and mentoring to the Treasury Accounting team on the day-to-day Treasury Accounting and reconciliations to ensure compliance with the corporate governance, local regulatory requirements and IFRS accounting standards.

  1. Develop a knowledge specialism to be utilized by the team, with regards to the latest IFRS Standards that are related to Treasury Accounting.

  1. Plan and direct the set-up and regular upkeep / maintenance of Bank and Treasury related General Ledger master data in SAP (Business Partner, Bank Master Data, GL Accounts) whenever there is a new set-up of companies, banking relationship, counterparties, within QatarEnergy SPV and Its subsidiaries.

  1. Contributes towards development of risk mitigation strategies. This includes implementing hedging measurement, mark-to-market and IFRS reporting to protect the company from adverse market movements.

  1. Manage Treasury Accounting teams to prepare in an accurate and timely way the required financial and reconciliation reports.

  1. Responsible for compliance with accounting standards and regulatory guidelines, such as IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

  1. Manage loan repayments, interest repayments and settlement of foreign exchange, interest rate swaps, bond issuance and payment and other financial instruments.

  1. Manage the Treasury internal and external audit process and engagement with auditors on Treasury periodical/annual audit reviews and requirements from Internal Audit, External Audit, State Bureau Audit and Quality Audit.

Decision Making Authority
  • Responsible for the Group, Treasury Accounting (include the international offices) daily operations and Treasury Accounting/ reconciliation/ reporting.

  • Renders solutions and provides recommendations on variety of complicated treasury (across diverse, business entities and models) and other financial matters as requested by QatarEnergy management, which have a substantial and critical impact on the levels of controls, operational efficiency of work processes and relations with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Managing the operational risk and compliance is crucial to prevent any substantial financial losses and/or adversely affect the working relationship with JVs operators, banks, and financial institutions.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Bachelors in Finance/ Commerce / Business / Accounting and/or globally accepted professional qualifications like a CA, CPA, ACCA or ACMA.

  • At least 15 years of experience in medium to large organization with significant exposure to accounting & finance functions. Previous experience in similar capacity in an oil and gas industry would be an advantage.

  • Full working knowledge of SAP ECC and S4 and extensive knowledge of IFRS and MS Power BI.

  • Excellent people management, leadership, and coaching skills.
