Operations Group, Operations Group > Project Analyst
Assists a project by developing and managing processes, procedures, and tools designed to increase the project’s productivity. A Project Analyst is tasked to help manage a project’s non-technical requirements. Typically, a project needing a Project Analyst will be of significant size and will require expertise related to the development of project management mechanisms.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate's degree.
High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ year of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• 1+ year of experience supporting project management and execution.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Contributes to and updates project planning activities (e.g., plans, schedules, and work breakdown structure) to support Project Managers or Leads on small projects or processes under supervision.
• With support and guidance from managers, tracks the progress and execution of routine projects/processes to ensure deadlines are met.
• Gathers information and data from well defined project sources, structure, and reporting methods to help track project metrics; recognizes problems of limited scope and brings to the attention of appropriate parties.
• Follows established processes and methods (e.g. tracking tools, schedules, databases, documentation management systems).
• Coordinates with specified point person(s) for various internal teams (e.g. engineering operations managers, legal) to gather necessary information for projects, follow up as directed, and ensures compliance with processes and guidelines.
Level of Responsibility:
• Working under close supervision.
• Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions with limited impact; impact of decisions is readily apparent; errors made typically only impact timeline (i.e., require additional time to correct).
• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities to others who are fully knowledgeable in the subject area.
• Completing most tasks with multiple steps which must be performed in a specific order; directions or manuals can accurately document the steps necessary to perform the task.
• Limited problem solving required, generally in the nature of troubleshooting simple processes or technology.
The responsibilities of this role do not include:
• Providing supervision/guidance to others.
• Budgetary accountability.
• Influence over key organizational decisions.
• Creativity; exact processes must be followed.
• Role in strategic planning.
