What you’ll do

Be part of the engineering team located in Bangalore and work in a highly motivated Scrum team.Your responsibility will be to cover all stages and tasks within the entire software development cycle:

• You work as a Senior Java developer in an agile development team according to the agile Scrum methodology
• You develop microservices based components that will be deployed on the cloud thru SAP cloud Platform. We have experienced colleagues in our team to support you in acquiring the knowledge you need to build up.
• You will focus oncloud qualities (“non-functional requirements” e. g. product standards like security, reliability, scalability, supportability, performance, health check monitoring) building large-scale, highly distributed and fault-tolerant services and processes.
• You take over full endtoend responsibility for design, implementation, quality assurance, testing, maintenance, DevOps and support.
• You have a strong customer focus and cloud mindset (“You build it, you run it.”).You adhere to Engineering processes & SLAs, and you contribute to second level cloud customer support together with other locations.
• You cooperate closely with colleagues across functions in your team and with other development teams and will also mentor young talent and guide them in development.
• You constructively contribute to change management, engineering excellence and continuous improvement
• Experience building generative AI applications backed by advanced prompting & RAG technologies and agentic frameworks.
• High quality, service and customer-oriented working attitude

What you bring

• Over 7 years of experience in Java backend development, with excellent programming skills in both application and technology.
• Expertise in Web Services (REST, OData), JPA, and JDBC, kafka.
• Strong understanding of cloud qualities (“non-functional requirements”), such as reliability, scalability, supportability, monitoring, and security.
• Solid working knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, REST, and ORM frameworks like Hibernate.
• Proficient in OOAD, algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
• Strong foundation in RDBMS concepts, relational databases, and SQL.
• Experience with OS and runtime environments (Unix, Windows, JVM, Web servers, Servlet Containers).
• DevOps mindset with a strong sense of ownership throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
• 1 to 3 years of experience as a software developer, preferably in AI-focused cloud application development.
• Excellent analytical, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly self-motivated with strong execution skills: results-driven and eager to take responsibility and deliver high-quality work.
• “Can-do” attitude, with the ability to see opportunities where others see challenges.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and open-minded approach to teamwork and intercultural cooperation.
• Team player with a fast learning ability.
