  • Leverage your comprehensive understanding of the technology, business, and commercial ecosystem in shaping strategic decisions for significant impact on Nokia’s competitive positioning and overall business performance.
  • Lead cross functional teams across business units, globally to collectively solve complex, multifaceted problems with original, innovative solutions that have a broad and lasting impact on the business landscape.

Professional Development & Organizational Strategy:

  • Guide and monitor the professional growth within cross functional teams, aligning talent development with strategic business objectives.
  • As a recognized authority and strategic expert, both internally and externally, lead high-risk, complex projects with adeptness, setting the blueprint for project strategy and execution.

Business Acumen & Opportunity Identification:

  • Identify and evaluate new technology & product development opportunities, understanding their relevance and potential impact on our strategic direction, enabling Nokia to capitalize on emerging market opportunities, driving growth and innovation.
  • Foster collaborative excellence, working seamlessly leading cross functional teams to translate technological advancements into compelling business propositions.

Functional Manager

  • Responsible for definition of Technology Strategy in the responsibility area by leading cross functional teams of Technology strategy leads spread across Business Units & geographies. Demonstrates strategic thinking, assumes broad perspective. Designs and/or develops original programs, projects, content for functional subject areas. Manages implementation/utilization through other organisation resources. Authorised to take decisions within responsibility area.• Anticipates internal and external technology and business challenges and / or regulatory issues and drives process, product or service improvements that create competitive advantage. Should be well versed and skilled in technologies like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Wireline and Wireless Telecome Networks, Enterprise Networking, Multi-cloud technologies, Network and Infrastructure Security.


High degree of independence within agreed policies, targets and budgets. Problem solving generally requires research and creative thought. Develops and applies new, innovative approaches to complex or infrequently occurring problems. Formulates operational guidelines. Ensures immediate working environment encourages innovation.Stretches beyond comfort zone to support a variety of senior roles and deliver business value in changing business environments.Management experience across several functional areas or businesses. Mastery of a specific professional discipline combining deep knowledge of theory and practice or expertise across several different disciplines within a function. Command of content of sub function. Recognised thought leader. Typically requires 10-12 years extensive relevant experience and/or a graduate / postgraduate equivalent degree. PhD degree would normally be expected in R&D stream.
