Role and Responsibilities
The Director of Retail Solutions is a business and technology leader that combines operational management with aligning people, processes and executive teams with new IT concepts. This role will be responsible for all system projects that include point of sale, IT systems, Inventory management, in-store digital signage and experiences. This position will also include projects related to development, implementation and maintenance of technology such as mobile app, payment systems and inventory management. The Director of Retail Solutions will be responsible for a team of technology professionals, including analysts, project managers and support associates. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Marketing, Merchandising, Design, Sales, and Stores Operations to ensure alignment and successful execution of retail initiatives.
Develop technology infrastructure from existing technologies, delivering customer solutions from off-the-shelf components
Works with procurement, contract and legal teams to bid and award contracts for retail work
Drives technical business decisions, including difficult tradeoffs that may be needed between resources, schedule, and functionality
Evaluate, execute, and support carrier activation portal
Collaborates with internal IT teams to manage integration of systems, enhancements and upgrades
Manage the development and implementation of service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve efficiency and effectiveness
Ensure compliance with relevant security and data privacy regulations.
Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement and optimization
Collaborates with cross functional teams to align technology strategy with business objectives.
Responsible for oversite of vendor execution of work and SLA timelines
Identify key performance metrics and leverage data analytics to track digital trends and optimize performance.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets for solution implementations.
Develop and manage vendor relationships and ensure the timely and effective resolution of issues
Mentor and empower a high performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and excellence in execution
Develop and operationalize business processes in SRMS to use throughout all 3 lines of business, MX, HE and DA.
Manage and maintain R&M Budget for SRMS Hosting & Development and all contracted R&M Vendors for Parts and Labor.
Anticipate potential high-risk project steps and heighten awareness of the program status. Provide routine status updates to relevant stakeholders and executives.
Manage any additional operational tasks as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
12+ years’ experience in retail technology systems and operations
Experience to include in Point of Sale and Networking systems
Strength in working cross functionally, harnessing a collaborative team environment and being able to lead project work within a large dynamic team and drive end to end deployment and implementation
Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into actionable technology and service solutions.
Adaptability to move at the pace of retail and work in a constantly evolving environment, ambiguity and making decisive decisions when needed
Advanced proficiency in Power Point, Word, and Excel
Outstanding written and communications skills, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to travel approximately 10-20% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field
Previous experience in retail point of sale, inventory management, network systems, vendor management, change management, large field team support with the ability to demonstrated knowledge of best practices, process creation and execution results
Demonstrated ability to create, revise and standardize processes
Demonstrated experience working with third party vendors and IT solutions
