As a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist you will need to have a strong ability to undertake geotechnical design, investigations, reports and sketches to professional and relevant standards along with the ability to review these for sign off.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering practical and innovative engineering solutions to clients, assisting in the management of projects from initial issue identification through to construction and implementation.
  • Lead and guide geotechnical projects, offering expert technical advice and mentorship to team members.
  • Conduct comprehensive geotechnical design, investigations, and reporting, ensuring all work meets professional standards and includes thorough documentation review.
  • Support the broader engineering team as needed, adapting to shifting workloads and priorities.
Here's what you'll need
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geoscience, or related field (BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc or higher).
  • Passionate about continuous learning and development, with a commitment to pursuing CPEng and or PEngGeol accreditation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-degree experience in Geotechnical Engineering, with a substantial portion of this experience gained within New Zealand.
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for geotechnical engineering, including and interest in earthquake and seismic work.
  • Commitment to mentoring and supporting less experienced geotechnical team members.
  • Ability to work in the field and lead investigations to gather key site data for office based interpretation, analysis and design.
  • Demonstrated experience in project oversight and management.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with team members, clients, and contractors.
  • Highly motivated, professional, and collaborative, with a focus on meeting the needs of both the team and clients.
