Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and directionto the drug substance manufacturing operations team, ensuring the successful execution of vaccines production.
  • Manage the performanceof the operations team members setting clear expectations and providing regular feedback. Identify anddevelop key talentwithin the team to ensure a strong pipeline for future leadership roles.
  • Develop and implement initiatives tooptimize efficiency and productivityof drug substance manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technical operations, quality engineering, AIT and Supply Chain Management to ensure smooth execution of drug substance manufacturing activities.
  • Ensure compliancewith regulatory requirements, industry standards, and local/global standards during all stages of drug substance manufacturing.
  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to resolve manufacturing issues and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in risk assessments, investigations, and root cause analysis for manufacturing deviations or non-conformances as required.
  • Provide oversighton manufacturing batch records, standard operating procedures, and other relevant documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationshipswith external partners and vendors involved in drug substance manufacturing.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., pharmaceutical sciences, chemical engineering, biochemistry).

Experience:

  • Extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in manufacturing operations, demonstrating a strong track record in operational performance, process improvement, and leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations and quality systems related to drug substance manufacturing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
  • Strong understanding of process development principles, technologies, and equipment used in drug substance manufacturing.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at various levels. Ability to collaborate and build positive relationships with peers and colleagues to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to prioritize and support multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while ensuring attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
