About the Role
As the
Sr Strategy & Planning Associate, you will play a key role in shaping and executing Uber’s Grocery & Retail delivery strategy. You will focus on working to distill business insights to craft an informed strategy, developing and executing strategic initiatives, and working cross-functionally to ensure that Grocery & Retail has a clear and actionable roadmap.
This role requires a blend of analytical savvy, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
This role reports to the Manager of Strategy & Operations for Grocery & Retail.
What you’ll do
- Business Analysis : Conduct deep analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and internal performance data in the Grocery & Retail vertical to inform strategic decisions and provide actionable insights.
- Performance Tracking: Develop metrics and dashboards to track progress against goals for strategic initiatives and lead regular performance reviews to ensure that the initiatives are on track to achieve their objectives.
- Program Management: Lead strategic initiatives end-to-end to enhance Uber’s retail-related offerings. This includes managing projects like competitive pricing benchmarking, cost savings, and launching new programs or features. Ensure these initiatives are well-planned, executed on schedule, and deliver on their targets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with key cross-functional teams, including Operations, Product, Finance, and Marketing, to develop and implement initiatives that align with the overall strategy.
Basic qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience in strategy, operations, retail, retail operations, e-commerce, or consulting OR MBA and 3+ years of relevant experience
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience using data-driven insights to influence decision-making. Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets SQL, and comfort working with large datasets.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and drive operational improvements. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a track record of executing initiatives from planning to results.
- Communication: Effective communicator with the ability to translate data and insights into compelling stories. Comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders and leadership.

- Industry Expertise: Experience in the retail or CPG industry
- High-Growth Environment: Experience in a high-growth, fast-paced environment (such as a tech company, startup, or consulting) where you’ve had to adapt quickly, tackle ambiguous problems, and collaborate across teams.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: A proactive, ownership mentality with a bias for action. Comfortable working independently when needed, and excited to innovate and continuously improve processes in an evolving space.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$129,000 per year - USD$143,000 per year.
