Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Maintenance : Perform installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of radio-pharmacy equipment, including cyclotrons and linear accelerators, ensuring all systems operate efficiently and safely.
  • Technical Support : Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
  • Customer Training : Conduct training sessions for customers on the proper use and maintenance of radio-pharmacy equipment.
  • Compliance and Documentation : Ensure all work complies with regulatory standards and GE Healthcare policies. Maintain accurate records of service activities and customer interactions.
  • Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and trust.
  • Travel : Travel extensively within Scotland and the North of England to service customer sites where and when required. Further travel may also be required to support other areas and for ongoing training requirements. Occasional requirement to work weekends/evenings is required in this role.
  • Personal Dosimetry Management: Ensure proper use and management of personal dosimetry devices to monitor radiation exposure levels, maintaining compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Additional Responsibilities :
    • Work on other specific modalities where required in the assigned area.
    • Perform total system level troubleshooting on complex multi-symptom problems.
    • Communicate clearly with end-users and department managers on equipment status; maintain customer satisfaction.
    • Responsible for Warranty and Preventative Maintenance Service contract cost control.
    • Assist in Account Sales visits, help train others where necessary, and identify Sales opportunities and communicate them to the account team.
Qualifications:
  • Education : Bachelor's degree in technical subject, or a related field. Equivalent military education or relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in servicing medical or radio-pharmacy equipment – field experience is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic and mechanical systems. Familiarity with radio-pharmacy equipment, cyclotrons, and linear accelerators is a plus.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and handle challenging situations effectively.
  • Licenses : Valid UK driving license is required.
  • Additional Requirements :
    • Qualified Technician/Engineer.
    • Technical knowledge of high-tech equipment and devices, preferably within the medical area.
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, maintaining high work, safety and quality standards at all times.
    • Customer-oriented attitude; deals tactfully and effectively with differences of opinion, excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
    • Fluency in English.
    • Maintenance on cyclotron or linear accelerator technology.
    • Experience with radio-pharmacy synthesis and dispensing equipment.
    • Knowledge of high vacuum, RF, and magnet systems.
    • Familiarity with working within a clean room environment and exposure to radiation sources.
    • Ability to troubleshoot to component level with schematic diagrams and use own initiative to diagnose complex issues.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with GE Healthcare equipment.
  • Certification in relevant technical fields.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for radio-pharmacy equipment.
