The Senior Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Manager designs, executes, and advises on health economic modelling andoutcomes researchfor the


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead development and execution of generation of HEOR evidence to demonstrate the economic value of our BSC products through economicevaluation(budget impact models/analyses, cost-effectiveness analyses, cost-utility analysis), retrospective claims database analyses, burden of illness analyses, decisionmodelling,patient reported outcomesand survey research, and evidence synthesis (targeted literature reviews, systematic literature reviews, etc.)
  • Serve as an expert on study design, methodology, and interpretation of health economicevaluationincludingdeterministic and probabilistic decision-analyticmodelling, and other methods usedfordecision-making and health technology assessment.
  • Engage cross-functional internal teams(including health economics and market access, medical affairs, clinical, and marketing) and key external stakeholders (including physicians, government representatives, payers) to develop and communicateeconomic value messages to support product adoption.
  • Author and publish papers in peer-reviewed journals and present research findings and their importance at HEOR and clinical conferences and meetings.
  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders in medical devices and health care industry.
  • Work on large scale problems that impact development of global value messaging and market access.
  • Provide HEOR-related training to sales, marketing, clinical, regulatory, and legal to increase awareness and understanding of HEOR competency and its role in supporting market adoption of products and therapies.

Required qualifications:

  • Formal training in health economics,pharmacoeconomics/pharmaceutical economics,public health, health services research, epidemiology, biostatistics, or related discipline (Masters’ degree, PhD, PharmD, MD, or related fields of study).
  • 10+ years relevant experience in HEOR, preferably with experience working with new medical technologies in medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology.
  • Proven track record of building and delivering advanced health economic modelling outputs, including cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact models, administrative claims database analysis through abstracts/publications and/or interactive model applications in medical device industry.
  • History of developing, authoring, and presenting peer-reviewed publications and abstracts.
  • Proven track record of presenting peer-reviewed evidence at clinical and industry conferences.
  • Practical experience and expertise in using decision analysis software (Excel, Visual Basic for Applications/VBA, TreeAge, R), statistical analysis software (e.g.,SPSS, SAS, Instant Health Data (IHD), STATA, R), replicability software (Git and GitHub), and statistical methodologies (e.g., logistic regression,generalized linear mixed models).
  • Experience in partnering with a clinical function to complete global economicevaluation ofclinical trials, including the inclusion of clinical and cost parameters in clinical trials, including, case report form development, handling sampling uncertainty, and transferability of the results from trials.
  • Understanding of global and US healthcare reimbursement, policy, health technology assessment (HTA), pricing, and market landscape assessments, including evaluation of evidence for coverage decisions.
  • Strong communication skills and experience developing interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions independently and to work in a fast-paced matrix environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 12+ years relevant experience in HEOR, preferably with experience working with new medical technologies in medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology.
  • Demonstrated success developing HEOR evidence strategies aligned with business needs, including the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Successful first or last authorship on multiple peer-reviewed publications and abstracts.
