U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Reliability Engineer (multiple positions). Telecommuting available from anywhere in US. HQ at 800 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55402.
Essential Responsibilities:
Specific duties include: (1) interface with business users, development teams and system administrators to ensure systems perform to meet their business needs and specifications; (2) develop, coordinate, and conduct technical reliability studies on engineering designs to assess the likelihood that a product/process performs its intended function over the intended lifecycle; (3) measure and analyze the reliability of the design, materials, processes, cost, and final products of production; (4) recommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability; (5) implement experience with Incident Management, Problem Management, and Knowledge Management principles and Service Now; (6) undertake testing and analysis on failures, proposing changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability; (7) work in financial services industry, including on call production support, triage of production outages, and collaboration with support teams to effect rapid recovery; (8) work with development, architect and product groups to gather information on new product features and software design implementations; (9) define, set up, and maintain application Service Level Objectives(SLOs) to ensure that the services meet customer expectations and Application Performance Monitoring (APM) using the following tools: AppDynamics, SignalFX, and Kibana; (10) use Splunk and other application log parser tools to capture and analyze production usage patterns and utilize the data to conduct infrastructure capacity planning; (12) work with systems architecture, networking topologies, multi-cluster applications, multi-tenant platforms, and systems/network security; (13) large scale application troubleshooting and application performance tuning while working with monitoring and observability tools including Splunk, AppDynamics, Kibana, and Thousand Eye; and (14) work with the following tools and technologies: UNIX, C, C++, Python, JAVA, Springboot, WebSphere, HTTP, TIBCO, Apigee, .NET, Kubernetes and J2EE Applications.
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) software application maintenance and application performance tuning experience.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: (1) large scale application troubleshooting and application performance tuning while working with monitoring and observability tools including Splunk, AppDynamics, Kibana, and Thousand Eyes; (2) working with systems architecture, networking topologies, multi-cluster applications, multi-tenant platforms, and systems/network security; (3) implementing experience with Incident Management, Problem Management, and Knowledge Management principles and Service Now; (4) working in financial services industry, including on call production support, triage of production outages, and collaboration with support teams to effect rapid recovery; and (5) working with the following tools and technologies: UNIX, C, C++, Python, JAVA, Springboot, WebSphere, HTTP, TIBCO, Apigee, .NET, Kubernetes and J2EE Applications.
