Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer (multiple positions) in Irving, Texas.

Essential Responsibilities:

As a member of the Open Banking Technology team, the Software Engineer will help pioneer new ideas, features, and products in the area of money movement capabilities. We are looking for Software Engineers who, along with their teammates, can build/prototype new ideas quickly, measure their effectiveness, and assess viability in the fast-growing Partner engagement practice. As a Software Engineer you'll join a self-organizing squad to design, build, deliver and maintain software in our banking platform. Together with the squad team members, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end features, spanning from front-end to API implementation. Essential responsibilities include: takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code; consistently creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considers scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs; makes sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront; takes feedback from code review and apply changes to meet standards; conducts code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures; accountable for ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices; exhibits relentless focus in software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards; embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation; contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement; reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; and anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation. Furthermore, the Software Engineer designs and develops multi-tier applications; conducts front-end software development; and builds reusable components and front-end libraries.

Basic Qualifications:

Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Digital Sciences plus 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Digital Sciences plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer or related in lieu of a Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience.


Must have 2 years of experience with Master’s or 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s with:
JavaScript; ReactJS; NodeJS; AngularJS; CSS; HTML5; Redux; Redux Saga; Redux Thunk; ContextAPI; CSS 3; Jenkins; GIT; Java; Spring Boot; Microservices; RESTful Web Service; J2EE; Hibernate; and Agile.Hybrid schedule available upon manager approval.Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $139,464.00- $153,410.40.
