In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Manage and drive the incident management process from Start to Finish.
  • Responsible for leading a team of sales surveillance analysts to deliver sales surveillance program (surveillance alerts, chat & call monitoring) for Asia Wealth Management business.
  • Responsible for handling Sales Surveillance procedure changes and working with Wealth Management Product governance teams in Investment, Insurance, and FX and teams in 2nd line of defense in ensuring procedures are up-to-date and relevant in current context.
  • Engaging with countries on surveillance related matters, work with Business Risk & Control and Surveillance Oversight teams in identifying gaps, raising CAPs, evaluating gaps identified in a market for applicability in rest of the markets within Asia, and collaborating with these markets till remediation is complete.
  • Support the KL Hub Head in executing a robust control and governance framework and associated processes to support the effective review of Investment, Insurance and FX sales surveillance activities across markets in scope within Asia/ EMEA.
  • Lead the migration efforts for migration sales surveillance process from working with markets on outsourcing approvals, understanding surveillance data sets, working with technology to complete the migration from manual mode to an end-to-end automated monitoring solution.
  • Manage the operational Service Level Agreements (SLA) for markets and ensuring onboarding of staff, training, and automation of process.
  • Support the KL Hub Head in implementing a robust regional continuous control monitoring and reporting framework to enable the timely and accurate analysis, reporting and escalation of qualitative and quantitative MIS that enable risk and control awareness, to facilitate risk-based management and to identify emerging risks, risk concentrations, and trends for corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review capacity planning and perform continuous process enhancement review and ensure that efficiency and productivity of the unit is within the agreed KPI and SLA.
  • Lead the training efforts for the Hub or teams in ensuring key changes in procedures and learnings from various reviews are translated and communicated to Sales Surveillance analysts to ensure consistent delivery of surveillance program.
  • Perform Horizontal review on any gaps identified in one market/product to ascertain applicability of the same in other markets.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Work with business and technology teams to identify the required dataset to support sales surveillance function.
  • Ability to manage teams.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Knowledge/Experience/Technical skills:

  • The ideal candidate will have more than 10-12 years’ experience within Financial Institutions of which should include: -

    At least 5 years of successful experience in leading a team with diverse cultural background and managing priorities, process, and processing components to achieve expected (or better-than-expected) results.

    Current Surveillance/Continuous Monitoring experience in the preparation of Management reports, assurance tests, audit reports or other product/solution delivery communications.

  • Good understanding of operational risk and control processes and procedures.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
  • The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of controls and risks associated with the consumer products.
  • The individual should have considerable experience in establishing, executing, and building governance and controls within the wealth management business / consumer banking.
  • Individual should have deep understanding of Wealth Management Products covering Investment, Insurance and FX.

Personal Skills:

  • Experienced people manager.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill in senior management interaction & engagement, influencing business decision.
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence Cluster Business Leaders, and In-Country Program Teams to achieve results that will impact the Cluster Consumer business significantly.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and proven ability to use own initiative and judgment and take lead to work with internal clients in a positive manner and help deliver solutions that benefit the business.
  • Ability to run and manage conference calls with business partners, technology and functional peers from multiple disciplines to reach a common goal.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially master’s degree
  • Preferred: Compliance/Controls related working experience within financial institution.
