Job Description

CyberArk is seeking a full-time in-house senior legal counsel to join its global privacy team. This person will act as a trusted advisor to our business on privacy and data security matters and help coordinate our global privacy program. The position may require some limited travel (flexible/hybrid working policy). Responsibilities include:

  • Help maintain and coordinate a global corporate data privacy program and standards appropriate for a leading cybersecurity company
  • Provide and coordinate legal advice regarding data privacy, AI and cybersecurity regulations applicable to the management of personal information throughout the company’s service development and business lifecycle
  • Negotiate data protection-related contract terms, in sales, procurement and other agreements
  • Empower other internal teams by developing and maintaining self-service toolkits
  • Run role-based training campaigns for teams handling specific types of personal data, such as Product or Marketing
  • Collaborate with our legal operations team to manage the successful implementation of our data governance software
  • Support the activities of various teams, such as product management, research & development, information technology & security, human resources, finance and marketing, to assist them with records of processing, privacy impact assessments and training programs
  • Support and coordinate cross-functional incident management processes in addressing potential data privacy and security incidents
  • Research, interpret and provide guidance on international data privacy and security laws as these and the company’s needs evolve
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and a member in good standing of a U.S. state bar
  • 6-8 years’ experience, predominantly in data protection/privacy, within a highly regarded law firm or as in-3house legal counsel (preferably in a technology company or advisory firm)
  • Experience providing and coordinating practical advice relating to GDPR and privacy regulation of other jurisdictions, particularly US, and Data Protection Authority guidelines and recommendations, to resolve real-life business issues
  • Experience of negotiating DPAs and commercial contracts (with SaaS an advantage)
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders from different parts of the business
  • Resourceful and results-oriented team player who’s fun to work with and adds value to the business
  • Creative and pragmatic thinker with strong interpersonal skills, who provides excellent service to their clients and is able to think strategically and establish a “trusted advisor” relationship
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

The salary range for this position is $160,000 – $215,000/year, plus commissions or discretionary bonus, which will be based on the employee’s performance. Base pay may also vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits.
