The Benefits Finance VP is a senior level position responsible for leading efforts that ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records and in coordination with various internal and external stakeholders. The overall objective of this role is to drive efforts to control and support data integrity in monthly close and general ledger reconciliation, prepare and review benefits & fringes annual budget and monthly / quarterly forecast, and support annual health & welfare plans financial statements audit.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage U.S. domicile benefits & fringe monthly close, including Medical and dental insurance, Pension and post-retirement plans expenses, 401(K) plan expense of employer contributions, Payroll taxes, STD, LTD, Life Insurance, Mobility charges, and benefits program fees.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation and substantiation of benefits & fringe journal entries. Analyze Bank vs non Bank charges, rebates, reserves, and analytical review of benefits & fringe trends.
  • Prepare monthly calculation of intercompany collection of benefits & fringe charges. Allocation of charges to business units.
  • Preparation and review benefits & fringe annual budget and monthly / quarterly forecast. Review supporting documentation from business partners. Review of external actuary forecast reports.
  • Assist in fringe CCAR model documentation. Work with model risk management team to address model limitations.
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting documents for annual health & welfare plans audit. Review of representation letter and coordinate with auditors.
  • Review of Form 5500 numbers based on supporting schedules and financial statements. Coordinate with the plans’ recordkeeper.
  • Approve payments for retirement plans.
  • Establish consistent processes and a strong control environment and review procedures.
  • Build a strong partnership with internal and external stakeholders, including HR Benefits, HR Payroll, Legal, FP&A, auditors, actuary firms, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience. Compensation experience desired
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to details
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
