You will be responsible for leading a team of modellers, originating complex or innovative studies and guiding and reviewing the work of more junior staff on a range of hydraulic modelling studies.

You will support a variety of studies across flood risk management and reservoir engineering for major infrastructure projects in the UK and potentially overseas. The successful individual will be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of hydraulic modelling across a range of applications and will have the necessary skills to provide mentoring and development of staff.

Here's what you'll need

With a track record of delivering large and complicated pieces of work, you will have experience of managing people and project delivery to maintain high levels of performance.

Happy to take ownership of your own and your teams performance you will be comfortable delegating work, reviewing others work and ensuring high standards of delivery. A creative thinker you will strive for continual improvement as well as being commercially aware with a thorough understanding of the UK water and environment sector and the requirements of working in consultancy.

We are keen to hear from candidates with;

  • Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered status with ICE or CIWEM
  • Extensive experience in implementing 1D and 2D modelling techniques.
  • Excellent knowledge and practice of tools such as Flood Modeller, Tuflow, Infoworks ICM.
  • An inclusive management style who works effectively as part of a diverse team with experience of staff supervision and development
  • Experience of liaising with clients and managing projects
