What to Expect

Tesla is looking to hire an enthusiastic and hardworking Quality Technician with a good eye for detail. An individual experienced with quality programs and technical quality processes to contribute to the team managing the quality program at the Cell R&D Manufacturing facility. As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for performing the daily operation of and providing support to users of the quality program. Provide quality support to projects from the planning phase to project completion. Ultimately, a top-class quality technician can efficiently monitor the integrity and quality of products without impeding production rates. In this role, you will work within the Quality Operations organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Operate in the ‘inspect, diagnose and repair’ mindset
  • Work closely with manufacturing, process, and quality teams to establish processes and procedures that will ensure consistently high quality
  • Comprehend current production quality trends based on dashboards or from occurrences in the line
  • Execute timely corrective action for quality mitigation and containment
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support investigation, containment and execution for strategic quality issues
  • Monitor quality, determine the root cause of problems and implement corrective actions and countermeasures
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Analyze and disposition component and product defects as a member of the Material Review Board
What You’ll Bring
  • Ability to wear PPE, which may include a full-face respirator and coveralls as needed due to working with hazardous chemicals
  • Experience as an Inspector or quality technician
  • Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems
  • Experience drafting reports and collating data
  • Experience with extensive problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ability to lift and sort parts of up to 30 pounds as needed
  • ASQ certification preferred
  • Experienced in QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred
