Job Description

As a Real Estate Credit Risk - Analyst in the Wholesale Credit Risk team, your responsibilities will involve working closely with top product bankers and other risk professionals. Your primary tasks will encompass independent assessment and approval of loans and lending-related commitments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct credit analysis and help the deal team seek approval for lending and trading related transactions, including operating exposures, individually or as part of a deal team
  • Create written credit approval documents, which include the spreading and presentation of historical financial statement information and the related financial analysis, as well as projections of future cash flows for large corporate borrowers
  • Develop a well-informed and forward-looking view of the business, financial and risks associated with a company and sector
  • Manage and monitor a portfolio of client credit exposures, across industry classes, on an ongoing basis
  • Participate in negotiating, finalizing, and executing documentation for loans and derivatives
  • Review and assign risk ratings and maintains updated credit research on their portfolio of clients
  • Work with Investment Banking Coverage, Commercial Banking Coverage and Global Corporate Banking on allocation of capital for clients; maintain threshold and industry limits

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Finance, Accounting, Economics Degree or equivalent
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication, along with strong inter-personal skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Academic training in the principals of accounting, corporate finance, capital markets products, and macro economics
  • Financial modeling
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Prior experience with Real Estate underwriting is preferred
