Description
- Influence product-level decisions by applying simulation, prototyping and molding principle expertise of optics- Generate polymer flow models to guide lens design decisions for manufacturability- Support optics architecture validation by leading mold design, part design and prototyping discussions- Work with optics manufacturing suppliers to develop new manufacturing techniques for optical components and overcome existing bottlenecks- Use tools such as JMP, Moldflow, NX and presentation software such Keynote to prepare slides supporting technical objectives
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6 years of relevant industry experience
  • M.S. degree in Plastics Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Opto-Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with injection molding processes for high-precision applications such as optics
  • Familiarity with injection molded optics part and tool design
  • Capable of prototyping and leading design for manufacturability discussions
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD degree in Plastics Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Opto-Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years of industry experience, preferably in optics manufacturing
  • Basic knowledge in diamond turning and lens surface profile compensation
  • Opto-mechanical tolerance and lens module assembly experience
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700 and $300,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
