Corporate External and Legal Affairshas an immediate opening for a Corporate External and Legal Affairs Intern. The position will combine elements of government affairsandproviding first line legal support for Microsoft business in the region. The role willreport into theAffairs Director covering Africa and willbe located inMicrosoft’s Nairobi, Kenya offices.

Required Qualifications:

• You must hold a Bachelors of Laws (LLB) or a similar degree.
• You must be legally authorised to work in Kenya to be eligible for this role. (Legally authorised = has citizenship or has been granted a valid visa or work permit).
• Currently completing or has completed Kenya School of Law Advocates Training Program.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and project management skills.
• Excellent stakeholder and relationship management abilities.
• Highly motivated, proactive, and capable ofidentifyingand solving complex problems creatively.
• Growth mindsetwith a focus on continued learning and improvementand ability to regularlythinkoutside the given parameters to see if there is a more effective way toaccomplishatask.
• Eagerand able to learn quickly and use good judgment.

Preferred qualifications:

• experience in developing and managing strategic relationships to influence publicandtechnology policy.

• CELAAfricaGovernment AffairsandPrincipal Corporate Counsel, CELA MEACommercial Teams to provide general legal support,utilizingmembers andoutside counselas needed.where relevant.
• Supportteamefforts throughresearch, preparing comparative analysis,translations,checklistsand summaries.
• Assistwith drafting agreements for the marketing, sale, licensing and distribution of Microsoft Products and Services.
• Participate in data collection and intelligence gathering to aid in crafting position papers, policy briefings, and legislative testimony.
• Stay informed on public policy and geo-political issues, contributing to Microsoft’s policy and political initiatives.
• Engage in research across legal, policy, and technology sectors to aid team strategies, address logistical issues, andmonitorregulatory changes.
• Help in advancing public sectorobjectivesand managing communications across various groups.
