A comprehensive understanding of OFAC and other Global Sanctions Regulations;
5+ years of experience in sanctions compliance or financial crime within a financial institution or money service business, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous projects, related to different stakeholders, internal and external to company
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills, strong professional presence to support regular interactions with senior management
Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and manage risk effectively.
Experience managing and working with offshore teams
High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
Ability to anticipate and proactively initiate future projects
Ability to work on site, at least 3 days per week
A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:
The Sanctions Team Leader will lead initiatives, in collaboration with the US Director of Compliance Operations and TLV Compliance Manager , to handle the daily tasks to support our sanctions requirements
Lead and manage a team of sanctions analysts responsible for reviewing and escalating sanctions-related matters.
Provide hands-on support. Including, but not limited to, escalations from other lines of business regarding sanctions, Quality Assurance of the sanctions team work
Take ownership of sanctions QA processes, including hands-on review of alert quality and resolution of both internal escalations and end-user issues related to sanctions decisions
Ensure adherence to OFAC and other relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Maintain accountability for the overall health and performance of the sanctions operations function, ensuring workflows are effective, timely, and compliant with internal and regulatory expectations
Maintain internal procedures and workflows to drive consistency and efficiency.
Provide subject matter expertise on sanctions issues and deliver training to team members and business stakeholders.
Collaborate with Compliance, Legal and Business teams on sanctions related matters.
Collaborate with Compliance, Product, Analytics and Engineering for refinements and enhancements to the sanctions screening products and workflows.
Stay current on changes to global sanctions regulations and evaluate their impact on the firm’s operations.
Prepare and present Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, and high-risk case summaries to senior stakeholders.
Support internal and external audits, regulatory exams, and assurance reviews.
Foster a culture of compliance, integrity, and continuous improvement within the sanctions team.
Q&A and monitor team performance, relevant system rules and features
Escalate issues to management as appropriate
