Your Role
In this role, you will support the design, planning, and delivery of conveyance projects, working closely with engineers and designers to ensure technical excellence and client satisfaction. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, with a focus on developing detailed designs for complex municipal water and wastewater systems.
As an
Entry Level Designer, you will:
- Support the design and execution of municipal and industrial conveyance systems, including water and wastewater pipelines, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations with support from intermediate and senior team members.
- Support coordination with various internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare high-quality engineering reports, specifications, and contract documents with support from intermediate and senior team members.
- Work with our hydraulic and hydrological analyses team, ensuring solutions meet the technical, environmental, and financial requirements of the project.
- Assist intermediate and senior team members with construction-phase services, including reviewing submittals, addressing design questions and conducting site visits.
- Ensure that all project activities are aligned with Jacobs' commitment to safety, sustainability, and quality.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
- Pre-graduate experience in conveyance design or related engineering fields, including experience with municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of design software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InfoWorks, etc.).
- Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario within 3-4 years.
- Experience with hydraulic modeling, including tools such as InfoWorks or similar.
- Prior experience working in a consulting engineering environment.
