Manages, sets up, and maintains benches, testers, and other equipment. Responsible for installing, upgrading, configuring, and optimizing utilization of equipment and components. Performs measurements and executes test plans, as well as failure analysis and debugging of issues. Monitors manual and automated equipment performance, troubleshoots issues, and repairs as needed. Documents SOP of equipment and processes. Responsible for upkeeping and implementing housekeeping and safety standards in the workplace.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of basic electrical/electronics engineering, electronics or RF testing, or related experience.
Physical Requirements:
• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• CET certificate or 2+ years of electronics coursework.
• 5+ years of experience with general computer skills and Microsoft applications.
• 3+ years experience in Semiconductor or related industry.
• 2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
• 3+ years in a leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Independently sets up and maintains benches, testers, and other equipment. Installs, upgrades, and configures complex equipment and components.
• Performs complex measurements and produces necessary documentation.
• Monitors equipment performance analyzes failures or malfunctions and develops corrective action.
• Troubleshoots and performs moderately complex repair work, rework, removal, and modifications to equipment as necessary.
• Sets up test equipment using hand tools or automatic test methods to perform complex tests of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
• Guides others and documents test results, KPIs, and other outcomes, and maintains malfunction records.
• Executes manual and automated test plans and provides input on test cases and test procedures. Reproduces and debugs complex issues. Documents changes to processes or SOP.
• Manages data for small projects and conducts advanced analyses to identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and recommend solutions to technical issues.
• Gathers, integrates, interprets, and reports data and information from various sources and stakeholders to understand moderately complex specifications and develop solutions.
• Collaborates with individuals inside and outside of own function to integrate projects and/or ensure changes work with other components of a specific project.
• Tracks the purchasing, shipping, receiving and usage of inventory for test labs, field engineering, and business unit projects.
Level of Responsibility:
• Works independently with little supervision.
• Provides some supervision/guidance to other members; does not have direct reports.
• Decisions are moderate in nature. Errors are detected and corrected with relatively minor financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships. May require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. Role may require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.
• Most tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.
• Creativity is needed to draft original documents, imagery, or work products within established guidelines.
• Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.
• Occasionally participates in strategic planning within own area affecting immediate operations.
