The Staff Software Engineer QT has responsibilities extending to the design and development of software for handheld ultrasound products. You will be the QT technology expert in the team, and provide guidance and mentoring on using QT to the entire development team.
Responsibilities:
  • Designing and implementing user interface using QT.

  • Designing and implementing software for ultrasound devices running Linux/Android/iOS.

  • Promote and share best practices using the QT framework

  • Drive advanced topics and new feature introductions in the QT framework into the product development cycle.

  • Interacting with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergies across common software platforms.

  • Leveraging DFR for software, Test Driven Development, Scrum and Lean software development methodologies to drive reliability upstream into the product development life cycle.

Quality Specific Goals:
  • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

  • Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible

Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related computer field

  • Extensive experience with the QT framework, including latest versions of core components and QML

  • Experience in object oriented design methodology and various programming languages, including C/C++, QML, Python

  • Software development lifecycle and automated testing experience

  • Working knowledge in configuration management tools such as Git or subversion

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in ultrasound software platforms, advanced applications, user-interface design, embedded and/or systems engineering

  • Experience in cross platform and application development
