PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION:
- Contribute to the execution of the adidas Japan organization’s operational and commercial strategies by managing key initiatives, projects and cross-functional projects; be an active team member in cross-functional teams
- Support the mid-/long-term planning of the business
- Contribute to the management of both business and organizational changes through all aspects of change management including internal communication
Key Responsibilities:
Business Growth’
- Drive and support the growth of business in line with the targets and objectives.
Business Support
- Support Managing Director and senior management team in facilitating strategic priorities, monitoring and reporting business KPIs to key stakeholders, deep-diving on strategical key issues
Strategic Planning process
- Support & drive the local Strategic Business Planning (SBP) process (e.g., document development, local alignment, global submissions, communication packages), for the future 2-5 year period
- Support other regular and ad-hoc strategic planning activities (e.g., MBR, quarterly strategy offsites, workshops, individual briefings)
Strategic documents development
- Develop strategic presentations and business planning documents to senior mgmt team
- Drive the development of executive/board level presentations and reports, including Japan/ BU / functional strategy communication & updates and YTD cross-functional business updates
Data analysis and decision support
- Develop financial and quantitative models relevant to strategy planning (e.g., business simulation, revenue projection, market share development, financial statement analysis)
- Synthesize data and prepare analysis to support senior management decision-making on priority topics (typically working cross-functionally)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Previous experience within the international sporting goods and/or apparel and footwear industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of business KPIs and ability to work with numbers
- Ability to turn vision and plans into action
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to create effective, deep and successful working relationships across all levels of the organization and multiple departments
- Leadership capabilities of driving a team forward and tackle issues or hurdles
- Understanding of change management processes
- Good communication and written skills
- Team player and can work independently with confidence in making decisions
- Always open to new ideas and embrace change with creativity
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree in Business studies, Marketing, Communications or equivalent professional experience, ideally in Sales and/or Marketing
- Fluent in English
- Expert Power Point user
- Advanced Excel user
- Intermediate statistics and modelling knowledge
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent written and spoken English
- At least intermediate level in Japanese preferred
- Passion for sports
