Description
In this role, core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Evaluate radio performance in different scenarios by quantitative analysis and link simulationWork with radio designer to come up with state-of-art radio architectureWork with digital designers to realize PHY/radio algorithms with power and area efficient digital implementations.Work with firmware designers to realize PHY/radio algorithms with high efficiency software implementation, and possibly with hardware acceleration.Responsibility for Bring up, test, characterize and optimize real silicon in lab.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
- Understanding of RF and analog components/modules composited of wireless communication systems, the possible impairments from those components, and the corresponding calibration and impairment reduction methods/algorithms is essential
- Proven track record of RF calibration algorithm for RF impairments
- Experience with MATLAB, Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
- Hands-on experience on lab testing & characterization, such as spectrum analyzer, signal generator, signal analyzer, power meter, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- MSEE/PhD with relevant experience
- Understanding of communication theory, information theory, & signal processing related algorithms design
- Analytical capability to develop the best-in-class solution in terms of performance, power and area for the meaningful issues of physical layer design
- Knowledge in existing wireless communication protocols: Cellular technologies (5G-NR/LTE/WCDMA/GSM), WiFi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be and ad/ay) or Bluetooth/BLE
- Circuit design experience or knowledge

- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
