In this technical role, you will be at the center of a silicon design group, with a critical impact on radio architecture, radio system performance, system integration and physical layer algorithms designs for innovative wireless communication systems. You will develop system model of RF/analog design, radio chain modeling, integrated radio interaction models, dynamic behavior models and assess associate impairments. You will evaluate radio performance on various application scenario, as well as working on architecting various calibration and correction methods for radio impairments. The role requires collaboration with HW digital designers and architects, products, Radio, analog designers, and SW engineers, to define and specify the wireless systems. You will get to work with digital designers to realize different physical and/or radio compensation algorithms, and with firmware designers to realize different physical/radio compensation algorithms with high efficiency software implementation. And to bring up, test, characterize and optimize real silicon in lab to the production qualities.
In this role, core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Evaluate radio performance in different scenarios by quantitative analysis and link simulationWork with radio designer to come up with state-of-art radio architectureWork with digital designers to realize PHY/radio algorithms with power and area efficient digital implementations.Work with firmware designers to realize PHY/radio algorithms with high efficiency software implementation, and possibly with hardware acceleration.Responsibility for Bring up, test, characterize and optimize real silicon in lab.
  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
  • Understanding of RF and analog components/modules composited of wireless communication systems, the possible impairments from those components, and the corresponding calibration and impairment reduction methods/algorithms is essential
  • Proven track record of RF calibration algorithm for RF impairments
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.
  • Hands-on experience on lab testing & characterization, such as spectrum analyzer, signal generator, signal analyzer, power meter, etc.
  • MSEE/PhD with relevant experience
  • Understanding of communication theory, information theory, & signal processing related algorithms design
  • Analytical capability to develop the best-in-class solution in terms of performance, power and area for the meaningful issues of physical layer design
  • Knowledge in existing wireless communication protocols: Cellular technologies (5G-NR/LTE/WCDMA/GSM), WiFi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be and ad/ay) or Bluetooth/BLE
  • Circuit design experience or knowledge
