The Global Financial Crimes Risk Manager is responsible for executing the Global Financial Crimes Program in the Asia Pacific Region.

The Global Financial Crimes Risk Manager will establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the Front Line Units (FLUs) and Control Functions (CFs), GFC risk executives and managers, and internal audit using effective influence skills.

Responsibilities:

The Global Financial Crimes Compliance (“GFC”) Manager, assists Global Financial Crimes Compliance executives and managers in any of the following activities in support of the identification, escalation and timely mitigation of compliance risks in alignment with the Compliance Risk Management (“CRM”) Program and the Financial Crimes Global Policy:

• Drive consistent execution of the financial crimes program in the Asia Pacific region, including but not limited to regulatory change, financial crimes policies and procedures management, risk assessments, issue management, monitoring and testing as well as any global or regional driven initiatives and projects
• Review Front-Line Unit escalations on financial crimes inquiries, risks, and concerns and work closely with Money Laundering Reporting Officers to develop risk mitigating controls.
• Develop meaningful management of information, including review and production of Key Risk Indicators and Key Performance Indicators.
• Contributes to risk coverage plans, executes independent risk monitoring, testing, and risk assessments.
• Assists in the identification, aggregation, reporting, and escalation of the remediation and thematic analysis of FLU/CF-owned issues and control enhancements related to financial crimes
• Assists in the review of, including the development of remediation plans to strengthen controls and providing oversight to ensure they are addressed appropriately.

Required Skills:

• At least 12 years’ experience in a similar or related role in a financial institution, legal or consultancy firm or with a regulatory authority.
• Anti-money laundering/financial crimes experience in a financial institution or government position in a Financial Services institution and/or related government entity is strongly desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid influencing capability across all levels of management including very senior management and board levels and with regulators in Asia.
• Can make decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to self-identify priorities, deliver to deadline and handle challenging demands and partners.
• Great teammate, willing to interact and discuss issues in a team environment, and take pride in your work.
• Sound risk management skills and an ability to apply discernment, take decisions when required and to raise when necessary.
• A flexible and solution driven perspective, able to solve problems and a determination to seek answers to complex issues.
• The ability to synthesize laws, rules and regulations into practice.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Lead functional projects and programs to optimize operational processes.
• Identify issues and recommend best practices for process improvements.
• Partner with various departments to understand business trends.
• Drive business or process improvements within the function.
• Provide oversight and support for planning and management of financial, budget, and headcount targets.
• Act as a point of contact or liaison between business leadership, staff, and other key partners.
• Promote transparent reporting and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by defining key metrics and evaluating progress.

Expected Qualifications:

• 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualification:

• Experience in developing and implementing policies and operating rules governing partnerships
• Strong and proven understanding of cross-border payments landscape, including latest market and regulatory trends, and understanding of how cross-border payment infrastructures operate
• Bachelor’s degree

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and with a range of internal/external stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Drive sales growth and retention: Own a portfolio of high-value SMB accounts in Korea, ensuring consistent revenue growth, merchant satisfaction, and share of checkout expansion.
• Own the pipeline: Build and manage a robust pipeline through proactive outreach, upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and win-back initiatives.
• Execute account strategies aligned with PayPal’s vision to deliver sustainable, long-term value for merchants and PayPal.
• Is accountable for Merchant account and assist to manage relationships, positing themselves as a trusted advisor
• Support the negotiation and management of commercial terms, contracts, and agreements to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
• Drive revenue retention.
• Maintain strategic relationships with Merchant, driving alignment with merchant goals and PayPal’s solutions.
• Anticipate future merchant needs through deep insights, fostering executive-level alignment and long-term partnership opportunities.
• Drive the execution of the overall strategy and delivery of PayPal’s solutions, ensuring alignment with merchant priorities and driving shared success.
• Oversee ongoing merchant operations, ensuring seamless onboarding, integration, and a positive customer experience.
• Monitor and enhance account health, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to merchant satisfaction, success
• Drive merchant retention, including churn mitigation / negotiation, and renewal processes
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver results in line with account plans and merchant expectations, ensuring operational excellence.
• Collaborate with internal teams to manage pipelines, accurately forecast revenue, and report on sales activities and outcomes.
• Leverage competitive and industry insights to refine account strategies and influence PayPal’s broader business initiatives.
• Advocate for merchant needs within PayPal, driving innovation and ensuring solutions align with evolving market demands.
• Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to maximize impact and ensure alignment of technical and commercial goals.
• Inspire collaboration, adaptability, and continuous learning within the team to deliver exceptional outcomes for merchants and PayPal.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years’ experience in Account Management, B2B Sales, or Customer Success — ideally in fintech, payments, or digital commerce
• Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales and growth targets .
• Fluent in Korean and English , with the ability to influence and build rapport across all levels of a client organization.
• Skilled in consultative, solution-based selling — able to translate data and insights into compelling commercial opportunities.
• Strong negotiation and closing skills , with a focus on long-term partnership value.
• Commercially sharp with an analytical mindset and proficiency in Salesforce , CRM tools, and performance dashboards.
• Resilient, agile, and self-motivated — comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, target-driven environment .
• Passion for technology, digital payments, and helping SMBs scale globally .
• Role can be located in either Singapore or Korea
