As a Supply Chain Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Collaborating with distribution center and business group personnel to set short- and long-term strategic plans as well as operating plans for departments.
  • Working with distribution center, value stream, and area leaders to drive initiatives in
  • safety, service, quality, and cost improvements.
  • Developing, establishing, and maintaining annual operating budgets.
  • Directing and facilitating Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement teams both within
  • and outside of the operations organization to improve customer satisfaction and reduce
  • total costs.
  • Clearly communicating to all employees within the distribution center the priorities,
  • expectations, and results of the facility.
  • Creating a culture of engagement throughout the campus by building relationships, driving
  • consistency, and encouraging problem solving through all levels of the organization.
  • Providing direction, supervision, and development of direct reports.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Eight (8) combined years of manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, engineering, quality and/or environmental health and safety experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Experience leading and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma
  • methodology, and Technology deployment for sustained continuous improvement
  • Experience in an operational management role
  • Experience leading high performing cross functional teams
  • Experience working with multiple Divisions, balancing multiple priorities
  • Experience communicating at all levels on cultural change initiatives
