Key responsibilities will include:
Identifying privacy issues and risks in a complex, highly regulated environment
Communicating legal privacy requirements and risks effectively to other legal, business, compliance, and risk partners
Developing customer-focused solutions to mitigate privacy risks and achieve business goals
Supporting partners in building technical and organizational controls, drafting policies, standards, and procedures, preparing internal documentation, and enhancing privacy operations and strategy
Collaborating with outside counsel, monitoring legal developments and industry trends, developing training and educational materials, and otherwise contributing to the legal privacy team’s existing knowledge and resources
Tracking privacy legislation and legal requirements based on evolving laws
Basic Qualifications:
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing of at least one state bar
At least 4 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of privacy laws, regulations, and principles in the United States and internationally, including sector-specific laws such as GLBA and comprehensive laws such as CCPA and GDPR
Substantive experience building practical, risk-based privacy compliance solutions and advising on policies, standards, and procedures at large, multinational companies
Experience helping partners to prepare documentation such as privacy notices, records of processing activities, transfer risk assessments, data protection impact assessments, and data processing agreements
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex legal issues to a variety of audiences, interact with senior leadership, and influence business partners
Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification(s)
