As an Advanced R&D Engineer/Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting research and development activities to drive the creation of innovative solutions. You will utilize your technical expertise in areas related to navigation, system/software design, data analysis, algorithm development, or related fields to contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge technologies. Your role will involve designing and conducting experiments, simulations, and analyses to drive the development of new navigation technologies and products.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute as part of a technical team conducting research and development related to navigation systems and sensors
- Design, develop, and test navigation systems and related sensors
- Support the development and integration of complex algorithms such as AI/ML algorithms to improve Honeywell technologies
- Conduct software and hardware integration of navigation systems and sensors
- Support hardware testing of sensors and systems which may include ground or flight testing
- Travel: 0 - 15% may be required
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 4+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience, or PhD degree in a technical discipline such as electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, robotics, mechanical engineering, or similar
- 2+ years of relevant experience in areas such as navigation, sensing and estimation, software development, system engineering, sensor integration, hardware testing, or related fields
- 3+ years of experience working projects with C/C++ and Python or Matlab
WE VALUE
- Advanced degree in an engineering or related field with experience and interest in research
- Experience with Kalman filters, inertial measurement units, and error modeling for various sensors
- Experience with sensor calibration including inertial measurement units
- Experience with alternative aiding sources for GPS-denied operation
- Capability to integrate multiple sensors into a larger system
- Good communication skills and ability to simply describe technical concepts
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills as needed on projects
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in small technical teams
