Also known as a "Pre-Sales Engineer", "Solution Consultant" or "Sales Consultant," the Solution Engineer is responsible for understanding a client’s business challenge and presenting technology solutions to evoke confidence in a company’s technology infrastructure, and to remove all technical objections in the sales cycle. To accomplish this, the Solution Engineer must have a strong desire to demonstrate their technical and/or sales skills, including the ability to solicit business requirements, develop a technical sales strategy, configure and effectively demonstrate the solutions that address these requirements and provide business value.Typical Day Of a Solution Engineer:

  • Facilitate outcome-focused dialogue to understand and define a customer’s business requirements by conducting discovery calls and process-based discovery workshops

  • Partner with prospects/customers to develop a vision for their future on the Salesforce platform, developing a roadmap for both short and long term goals

  • Make that vision come to life by configuring and communicating the art of the possible on our platform through a product demonstration

  • Establish and share a point of view on business value provided by the solution with potential customers

  • Respond effectively to RFIs/RFPs

  • Participate in trainings and certifications to acquire and maintain skills

  • Collaborate with product and enablement teams to provide feedback from the field and drive solution growth

  • Engage with partners and act as a high level solution evangelist where appropriate


Requirements:

  • Solid oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills - ability to create and perform demonstrations of our solutions

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Proven time management skills in a dynamic team environment

  • Ability to understand customer's business goals and map those to the right technology solutions

  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team to take on business and technical problems

  • Likes to be the first to know something and to understand why
    and how things happen.

  • Good at searching out information and experimenting, likes to
    concentrate on a particular topic and to solve puzzles.

  • Good at explaining ideas and finding ways to keep people’s
    attention.

  • Willing and able to travel occasionally

  • Passion and energy for technology and a desire to learn

  • Knowledge of related applications, relational database and web technology

  • Solid oral, written, presentation, collaboration and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied political environments

  • Languages: English (essential), other European languages (desired)


Additional Preferred Requirements:

  • Solution Engineer / pre-sales experience

  • Experience implementing Salesforce, CRM, or equivalent solutions

  • Experience in a technical, customer-facing role

  • Project Management skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Experience with Salesforce, including product certifications
