We are looking for a Manager, Social Marketing to fill an integral role in our Social Marketing Team. In this role, you will be a key contributor in planning, managing and executing the social marketing strategy focused on our Netflix-branded Japanese content for various audiences across key social media platforms. To be successful, you’ll need to be a storyteller at heart and have excellent judgment to balance audience interests with the needs of our business. You’ll have a deep passion, appreciation, and understanding of TV, Film and entertainment broadly, with a depth and breadth of knowledge about the Japanese entertainment landscape and consumers as well as global trends.

Seek new approaches:Explore new ideas and methods that break from the norm and emphasize the brand's personality. Create content that resonates with fans' emotions and encourages involvement with joy and deep engagement.

Maximize title excitement:Provide Social strategy and input consumer-centric POV.
Maximize social media reach with efficiency by using triple media: Owned, Earned, Paid.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the overall Netflix Social Marketing strategy as a key member of the Team
  • Create social assets optimized to preferences unique to each social platform audience for maximized engagement.
  • Create innovative and engaging Social Marketing campaign strategies for priority title campaigns and multi-title slate and brand campaigns.
  • Identify and engage influencers and creators to create impact outside of owned social channels.
  • Identifying unique opportunities to elevate community conversation and the scale and influence of Netflix's Social channels overall
  • Manage and monitor what’s happening across all Netflix Social channels, including sentiment, trends, and metrics, and ensure content posted to our editorial channels fits into the overall Netflix Social Marketing and Brand strategy
  • Accurately and efficiently lead the planning and execution of the social posting calendar across platforms, including posting of Netflix assets onto our channels using internally developed tools and resources
  • Manage assignment scheduling, prioritization, budgeting and deliveries of external writers/producers and vendor agencies, balancing the need to be nimble and reactive with strong long-term planning
  • Oversee cross-functional localization workflows for editorial content across channels
  • Maintain operational excellence across existing workflows, helping to make them even better when you can and working to develop new ones as needed.
  • Maintain, nurture, and grow a network of freelancers, vendors, and production companies to work with for constant creative excellence and innovation
  • Serve as a thought leader within the team and creative partner on other assets to ensure a healthy overall Netflix Social Marketing editorial ecosystem
The Ideal Candidate has:
  • 7+ years of experience as a Social Media Manager, Editor, or Content Marketing at a digital media company or for a consumer brand.
  • Knowledge of the entertainment industry is a plus.
  • A sophisticated understanding of online social platforms and the communities on each of them.
  • Strong grasp of language, especially in Japanese, and is able to write and create effective, engaging content that connects with audiences on social media.
  • The ability to switch between day-to-day tactical matters and high-level strategy as needed.
  • Experience smoothly communicating workflows and tooling.
  • Deep understanding of how cultural trends form, and the ability to anticipate and act on it.
  • Proven track record of maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality for writers’ rooms and/or vendor agencies.
  • Solid understanding of marketing and social media analytics; you are able to apply a data-centric approach to make content that grabs the attention of the audience and to test and optimize the content.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working directly with talent and talent representation in meetings and on shoots/sets.
  • Excellent skills in pitching/ presenting with the ability to read the room.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate in Japanese. Fluency in English is a plus.
