Responsibilities associated with this post will include:
- Liaison with other members of the Geomatics team to allocate appropriate staff and equipment resources to enable work to be delivered to time, budget and quality.
- Communication of project related issues to the Geomatics Project Manager.
- Assistance and input into the preparation of estimates for projects.
- Monitoring and reporting of progress to the Project Manager.
- Mentoring of Graduate Land Surveyors and Assistant Land Surveyors to identify training requirements.
- Checking of surveys using robust Quality Assurance Procedures prior to verification by a nominated checker.
- Production of survey drawings and reports.
- Production of Method Statements and Risk Assessments, ensuring safe working practices are followed on site.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Land Survey or Geomatics.
- Relevant work experience which demonstrates applied knowledge of land survey procedures.
- Experience in using industry standard survey equipment and processing software.
- You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and a desire to work within, a range of Geomatics disciplines, including Topographic, Measured Building, Hydrographic, Deformation, and Laser Scanning survey.
- You will be keen to work within a range of environments including the Highways, Rail, Environmental, Energy and Property sectors.
- You will need to have a full UK driving licence as the role will involve travel to site locations Flexibility is required and you must be prepared to spend time on site away from the regional office.
- Membership of a Chartered Institute or the aim to work towards professional accreditation is desirable. Project management abilities, leadership skills and commercial awareness would be beneficial.
- Experience of surveying with Leica or Trimble equipment, LSS or SCC software, and Terrestrial Laser Scanning, would also be advantageous.
