You will work closely with our Legal and Sales teams, supporting their work on a global basis. You will become a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across the business.

As a Counsel, you will be responsible for:

• Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with Akamai's customers and partners, primarily in the Americas;
• Collaborating with cross-functional business partners on legal risk associated with commercial sales contracts
• Assuring conformity and consistency in application of Akamai's legal and business policies and practices
• Participating in efforts to enhance the legal department's overall performance
• Acting as a Point of Contact in handling other tasks that arise from time to time.
• Handling other legal tasks and projects that arise from time to time.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Law degree from an accredited University, be admitted/licensed to practice in an in-house role in CR, and be an attorney in good standing
• Have 4+ years experience practicing law in private practice or in-house, working with US technology or telecommunications clients
• Have excellent English and Spanish written/oral communication skills to conduct contract negotiations via phone and/or video
• Have a solid understanding of commercial law, intellectual property rights, and privacy and data protection in support of sales contracts
• Be able to leverage business judgment assessing legal risk while thinking strategically and providing practical advice
• Have excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
