We are seeking an experimental condensed matter physicist, applied physicist, materials scientist, or electrical engineer with a background in cryogenics and electrical transport in mesoscopic superconductor-semiconductor devices. A successful candidate:
- Demonstrates deep expertise in physics, experimentation methods, and measurement techniques. Develops hypotheses, designs experiments and modifies future experiments based on results. Conducts experimentation. Develops equipment designs needed for experimentation. Directs experimentation, data collection, statistical analysis, and reporting of results. Identifies and adapts existing methods to integrate into experiments.
- Guides cross-team collaboration across Quantum for efficient use of company expertise, including hardware, software, and algorithms. Works across teams and ensures contact with others as needed. Documents work and makes available internally and externally to the team to more easily leverage work across teams.
- Partners to create methods for control development and implementation. Creates ways to measure characteristics and properties. Develops cryogenic techniques/instruments.
- Helps develop device designs. Partners to develop cryogenic measurement techniques using DC and RF techniques and creates ways to measure characteristics and properties.
- Performs quantum measurement and develops functional testing of quantum devices, and leverages expertise in instrumentation involved (e.g., what to use, wiring and filtering for low temperature application).
