What you'll do...

As a Staff, Software Engineer at Walmart Global Tech's Enterprise Business Services, you will be an integral part of our Core HR team, specializing in the development of innovative HR solutions that have company-wide impact. In this leadership role, you will lead design, development, and maintenance of OpenStack systems within the HR domain. We are seeking candidates with strong technical expertise, passion for innovative solutions, while making significant impact for you customers.

  • Lead Development: Take a lead role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Code Review: Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to best practices, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking in addressing complex technical challenges.
  • Architectural Decisions: Participate in and contribute to technical reviews, helping to make architectural decisions aligned with business objectives.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve software issues, ensuring timely resolution to maintain system integrity.
  • Additionally, this role will ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of systems through the design of scalable and resilient infrastructure, system monitoring, automation, and incident response and post-incident reviews.



What you'll bring:

  • Acts as an altruistic servant leader and is consistently humble, self-aware, honest, and transparent.
  • 8+ years of experience in the Software Engineering field
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledge in deployment automation tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Nomad, etc.)
  • Strong Java background
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban)
  • Strong understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (Jenkins, GitHub , Artifactory etc.,)
  • Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Cucumber, or similar) and concepts (CHO, Integration, Unit, etc )
  • Design and Documentation Skills
  • Deep expertise in modern software development tools / ways of working (e.g., git/GitHub, DevOps tools, metrics / monitoring, …) and with agile software development environments to provide Devps services and solutions.
  • Strong technical acumen in Cloud Architecture, Observability, Performance Benchmarking, Capacity planning and Reliability tools.
  • Experience with metrics and observability tools (e.g. Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
