Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will have relevant experience in fund accounting with proven fund accounting skills, and the ability to ensure all deliverables within the Service Level Agreements are met. They will have a strong “hands on” operational focus and is expected to optimize effectiveness and efficiency in operational delivery. Ideal candidate will also require strong people management experience and demonstrated ability to interact with various stakeholders.
Job Background/context:
Citibank Europe plc Luxembourg Branch is well-positioned for significant growth over the next few years, and requires to expand its Fund Accounting team to service a very wide array of clients, mostly UCITS funds or similar, but also from the Alternatives / Private Equity sector. This job opening is specifically made available to allow the onboarding of new clients, as an increment to the existing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions) as well as support mechanism for achievement including SMART goal setting
- Take accountability and ownership for daily production of NAV’s, client reporting and other agreed deliverables
- Setup and maintain the appropriate structure to ensure a positive client experience, facilitating its navigation of Citi’s organization and reducing perceived silo’s
- Assist the Department Head in running the team, providing feedback and input and implementing the agreed actions to help the team grow, both individually and collectively
- Serve as primary point of escalation for internal/external staff queries, and develop/manage process, productivity, and quality standards
- Create, develop, and maintain business relationships, identify and implement service, system, and process enhancements, lead and evaluate system testing, and train staff on new technology enhancements
- Support development and achievement of strategic goals and annualperformance/compensationcycle as well as implement methods to reduce expenses, recommend enhancements, and justify benefits
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
- Build and maintain a good client relationship, pushing Citi’s profile as a partner of choice and facilitating a positive client experience
- Enhance the team’s profile within Citi Luxembourg and internationally, as well as externally (auditors, clients, boards, …)
- Take ownership and accountability for issues, identify solutions to operational problems, managing both tactical and strategic aspects of the work
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of relevant experience
- Chartered Accountant/CFA/MBA
- Experience in fund accounting
- Experience in accounting within financial services, strategic management, resource/expense management, and managing client relationships
- Experience in managing operational delivery
- Extensive knowledge of funds services and process
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge in related area
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
