Responsabilities include:

  • Subcontracting assignments typically will consist of major construction services or supply of complex, long lead equipment
  • Utilize established policies, procedures, systems, and tools.
  • Advises to stakeholders how to create requisitions and helps them in understanding the overall Procurement process.
  • Administers Agreements and change orders (modifications).
  • Reviews contractor invoices and ensures that invoices are approved in accordance with terms and conditions agreed within the agreement.
  • Expedites, tracks, and coordinates review of contractor deliverables
  • Evaluates facts surrounding contract-related problem areas and applies remedies to resolve it.
  • Maintains contracting documentation in a repository.
  • Identify, advise, and mitigate contract-related risks.
  • Prepare bidder lists, qualify bidders, prepare requests for quotation/proposal, and conduct bid evaluations.
  • Recommend source selections, lead contract negotiations.
  • Works under moderate to minimal supervision. No direct reports. Supervises the work of procurement support personnel who assist with the purchasing activities.
  • Coordinates with client, project or departmental personnel in performance of the subcontracting activities.
Here's what you'll need
  • 5-10 years of directly applicable experience and strong knowledge of procurement and contracting processes
  • Post Secondary education (bachelors certificate) in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain
  • Project Management Certification is a bonus
  • Strong working knowledge of company risk policies and procedures
  • Sound decision and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact and work closely with engineering, project management, construction and clients
  • Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with fellow team members
  • Innovative and solutions-oriented thinker
  • Exceptional organizational skills and highly detail-oriented

This is a Hybrid position:

  • Office is in Burnaby
  • Project is in Tsawwassen – would be required to attend site periodically (unlikely to be more than monthly basis)

Working from home is acceptable
