Responsabilities include:
- Subcontracting assignments typically will consist of major construction services or supply of complex, long lead equipment
- Utilize established policies, procedures, systems, and tools.
- Advises to stakeholders how to create requisitions and helps them in understanding the overall Procurement process.
- Administers Agreements and change orders (modifications).
- Reviews contractor invoices and ensures that invoices are approved in accordance with terms and conditions agreed within the agreement.
- Expedites, tracks, and coordinates review of contractor deliverables
- Evaluates facts surrounding contract-related problem areas and applies remedies to resolve it.
- Maintains contracting documentation in a repository.
- Identify, advise, and mitigate contract-related risks.
- Prepare bidder lists, qualify bidders, prepare requests for quotation/proposal, and conduct bid evaluations.
- Recommend source selections, lead contract negotiations.
- Works under moderate to minimal supervision. No direct reports. Supervises the work of procurement support personnel who assist with the purchasing activities.
- Coordinates with client, project or departmental personnel in performance of the subcontracting activities.
Here's what you'll need
- 5-10 years of directly applicable experience and strong knowledge of procurement and contracting processes
- Post Secondary education (bachelors certificate) in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain
- Project Management Certification is a bonus
- Strong working knowledge of company risk policies and procedures
- Sound decision and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact and work closely with engineering, project management, construction and clients
- Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with fellow team members
- Innovative and solutions-oriented thinker
- Exceptional organizational skills and highly detail-oriented
This is a Hybrid position:
- Office is in Burnaby
- Project is in Tsawwassen – would be required to attend site periodically (unlikely to be more than monthly basis)
Working from home is acceptable
