Responsibilities of the Role

  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends.
    • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  2. Business Requirements Gathering:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and requirements for reporting and analytics.
    • Translate business needs into technical specifications and analytical metrics for BI solutions.
  3. Data Modeling and Visualization:
    • Develop and maintain critical data flows and data models, consolidating data from various data sources and transforming data for analytic use
    • Create visually appealing and easy-to-understand data visualizations to communicate insights effectively.
  4. Performance Monitoring:
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights into business performance.
    • Identify areas for improvement and work with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions.
  5. Data Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data sources by implementing data quality checks and validations.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to resolve data integrity issues.
  6. Trend Analysis and Forecasting:
    • Conduct trend analysis to identify patterns and opportunities.
    • Assist in building forecasting models to support strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst (Data Analyst) or in a similar role.
  • 3+ years of experience in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in SQL, data transformation and data modeling techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity and networking concepts is a plus.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $68,200 - $91,000 annually. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.
