What You'll Do:As an Account Systems Engineer, you will be a customer-focused technical sales professional who provides high-level technical support and guidance to customers. Collaborating with the Account Manager, you will recommend and develop appropriate customer solution offerings. Your role includes:
- Providing an architectural perspective across the Cisco product portfolio and demonstrating your technical specialization for specific opportunities.
- Participating in the creation of overall and technical account plans.
- Proactively generating leads through customer meetings, seminars, and educational sessions.
- Qualifying opportunities and defining customer business problems in a technical context.
- Planning and advancing deals through the sales process by engaging the appropriate Cisco and partner tools and resources (such as CSE, SE, PSS, AS Engineers, etc.).
- Defining solution options and articulating the benefits of Cisco solutions.
- Researching and demonstrating solution return on investment.
- Coordinating solution development, including using replicable architectures and researching customized solutions.
- Developing proof of concepts, including presenting and documenting test results.
- Developing or overseeing the development of presentation materials and presenting technical components of Cisco solutions to customers.
Competencies & Behaviors:- Business Insight: Gain broad knowledge of the business economics and trends of the industries and vertical markets in which your customers operate, understanding how Cisco solutions add financial and strategic value.
- Relationship Building: Establish credibility quickly through personal self-confidence and build strong relationships both within and outside of Cisco.
Who You Are:- Experience: 5+ years of related experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Cisco product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings in the technology area of emphasis required. Pre-sales experience highly recommended.
- Education: Typically requires a BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent. CCNP or CCDP Certification preferred.
- Customer Insight: Strong understanding of customer business models and common financial difficulties, with the ability to frame Cisco offerings in terms of business drivers.
- Advanced Skills: Advanced knowledge of Cisco vision and technology, with the ability to articulate the vision from the customer's perspective. Understand customer business drivers and how to map these to a customer network platform.
- Technical Competence: Understanding of networking industry trends, competitive product and solution landscapes, and advanced knowledge in Routing & Switching and Networking Platform Design.
- Consulting Skills: Excellent technical consulting skills, including the ability to define trade-offs, ask probing questions, and incorporate Cisco solutions into a broader technology environment.
- Knowledge Sharing: Proactively share information about common replicable architectures that are most appropriate for assigned customers. In-depth knowledge of your specialization and adjacent technologies, including product, technology, and competitive information.
