The candidate will be experienced in electrical engineering but also understand thermo-mechanical aspects of the active cooling technologies utilized in desktop/laptop computers and consumer electronic devices. Additionally, they should understand power states and power management features in Windows and/or other operating systems, control system theory, PID fan control, and thermal/acoustic tradeoffs as it applies to consumer electronics devices. The candidate should have a good understanding of System-on-Chip (SoC) power/performance trade-offs between frequency, voltage, and power, and voltage and performance binning techniques for SoCs.
