Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in New York, New York. Utilize data science principles and analyze activity on the Marquee digital platform. Utilize programming languages, such Python and Slang (an internal proprietary coding language built on top of C++) to develop internal applications to analyze usage patterns on digital platforms and help Sales teams cover their clients. Engage with sales, product managers, and strategists to develop analytics to tailor Firm products to the clients’ needs. Participate in the development, testing, and support of both client and server-side systems in a dynamic environment. Design, write, and support risk mitigating applications that ensure the Firm’s Marquee platform remains competitive. Utilize Relational Databases Management Systems (RDBMS), such as Microsoft SQL-Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake. Develop scalable queries to rapidly retrieve and dissect millions of lines of data to adequately feed the team’s trading and risk models. Develop market analytics that help clients identify attractive opportunities in financial markets, such as Equities, Interest Rates, and Foreign Exchange. Develop and support new distributed client-server systems, which help automate workflows, achieve automation, and drive new business developments across the division.

Job Requirements: Master’s or bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. One (1) year of experience with a master’s degree or three (3) years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience with a master’s degree or three (3) years of experience with a bachelor’s degree: developing and implementing visualization and analysis tools for usage events using a programming language including Python; utilizing machine learning or statistical analysis techniques to interpret data models for existing and new datasets; working with a big data dataset database with billions of records and multiple terabytes of data, optimizing storage, querying, and analyzing, using languages such as SQL and tools including Hadoop and Apache Spark; working with web applications and software design using HTML and JavaScript; and working with financial securities and structures used by institutional investors including hedge funds and asset managers.

Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150,000 - $225,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
