Key tasks and responsibilities:

In this role, Licensing Director:

  • Closes patent licensing agreements as a lead negotiator, while taking into account overall strategy and broader business goals of the company;
  • Manages licensing projects and related customer engagement plans;
  • Develops and implements negotiation strategies to deliver licensing revenue efficiently according to the targets;
  • Is responsible for high quality of processes and ways of working in his/her area and projects;
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking and broad business perspective in order to design and develop projects and processes in the field of IoT patent licensing;
  • Influences broader business strategies to address internal or external business and customer needs.

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • Significant relevant work experience and expertise - experience in patent out-licensing is a must
  • University degree: Master’s degree of Laws
  • Proven track record in negotiations to completion (deal-making)
  • Project management skills, and determination to see things through to completion.
  • Technology- and business driven mindset
  • Capability to work with high degree of independence towards agreed targets, but in alignment with overall strategies
  • Willingness to travel and to work under pressure
  • Previous experience from IoT licensing is considered as a strength
  • Ability to understand all sides of a negotiation to seek effective and creative solutions
  • Good negotiation, influencing, communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with patent licenses and other related legal agreements and ability to draft them
  • Experience and expertise in out-licensing of standard essential portfolios (under FRAND principles) is expected
  • Experience from US licensing market is considered as a strength
  • Analytical skills and understanding of financial analyses
  • Capability to think and act creatively in order to develop and apply new innovative approaches to complex problems
