Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the legal team supporting JPMorgan Wealth Management, providing strategic direction and oversight
- Advise senior management on legal and regulatory matters impacting wealth management products and services
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including those enforced by the SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory bodies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance, controls, risk management, and business units, to address legal issues and support business initiatives
- Represent the firm in interactions with regulatory authorities, industry groups, and external legal counsel
- Provide legal support for new product development, marketing initiatives, and client agreements
- Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the wealth management industry
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, professional development, and continuous improvement within the legal team
- Ensure the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in all legal matters
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 15 years of legal experience, with 10 years of experience in wealth management, financial services, or related areas
- Experience managing a legal team
- In-depth knowledge of securities laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, including those enforced by the SEC and FINRA
- Proven track record of providing strategic and practical legal advice to senior management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
