Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the legal team supporting JPMorgan Wealth Management, providing strategic direction and oversight
  • Advise senior management on legal and regulatory matters impacting wealth management products and services
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including those enforced by the SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory bodies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including compliance, controls, risk management, and business units, to address legal issues and support business initiatives
  • Represent the firm in interactions with regulatory authorities, industry groups, and external legal counsel
  • Provide legal support for new product development, marketing initiatives, and client agreements
  • Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the wealth management industry
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, professional development, and continuous improvement within the legal team
  • Ensure the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in all legal matters

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 15 years of legal experience, with 10 years of experience in wealth management, financial services, or related areas
  • Experience managing a legal team
  • In-depth knowledge of securities laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, including those enforced by the SEC and FINRA
  • Proven track record of providing strategic and practical legal advice to senior management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities

  • Experience working in a large financial institution or wealth management firm
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead a high-performing legal team
