The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Environmental Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Lead the division-wide development and implementation of the EHS management system, including coordination of Responsible Care® activities, managing the multi-site certification implementation project, and supporting division EHS initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities for EHS program improvements through collaboration with corporate, facility, and relevant stakeholders. Implement strategic plans and track progress in delivering against division objectives and targets.

  • Implement standardized systems, programs, and processes to ensure a robust division-wide approach that drives compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.

  • Support the air permitting and compliance program, including data collection, recordkeeping, emissions testing and reporting for the Chemical Operations division.

  • Experience with federal, state and local environmental release reporting with ability to be on-call to support emergency response events.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Seven (7)years of EHS compliance experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience and working knowledge of ISO management systems.

  • Permitting compliance experience and working knowledge of federal and/or state environmental regulations.

  • Experience and working knowledge of ACC Responsible Care® management systems and requirements.

  • Demonstrated project managementand/or leadershipexperience

  • Seven (7)years of environmental compliance experience in a chemical, petrochemical or comparable complex regulatory industry.

  • Five (5) years of experience with Title V Operating permits, and/or NESHAP/MACT standards for the chemical industry.

  • Experience with other EHS compliance programs, e.g.

  • Multimedia Compliance Auditing

  • Process Safety Management / Risk Management Planning

  • CWA / NPDES Permitting (general or specific permitting

  • Stormwater and/or Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
